This is a big day for us at IllStyling. We have come into a pair of my single favorite Nike Dunks ever. If you read the title, which I bet you did, then you already know of which kicks I speak. The reasons these Quasimoto Dunks are my favorite are numerous but I figure what the hell, I got time.

First off let’s start with the record label that made all this happen. Stones Throw records is a label that was created in 1996 by legendary producer Peanut Butter Wolf. Stones Throw records is home not only to the likes of PB Wolf and Madlib, but to musical geniuses like DJ Babu, Rasco, and the late Jay Dee. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the music that comes out of this record label. Everything is very creative, forward moving, and daring; pretty much exactly how I feel all music should be.

The Quasimoto project is one that got Madlib a lot of attention, and I’m sure that wasn’t his intention. Lord Quas is the intergalactic pimp hustler alter ego of Madlib who spits in a very high pitched voice (think helium) . Quas is supposed to be the exact opposite of Madlib himself, all the way from the voice to the nonsense he raps about. Madlib has always said that he thought the project would be for him only because he didn’t feel it was commercially acceptable. It wasn’t until Peanut Butter Wolf heard the recordings that the two of them decided they should be released. There is nothing that is taboo on a Lord Quas record, everything is so free and unbounded that it easy to think it wouldn’t be accepted by the masses. It was.
If it weren’t for all that, we wouldn’t have these Dunks. This pair is made of the highest quality materials, and stands out like a sore thumb in a sea of copies (much like Lord Quas’ music). The shoe’s anatomy begins with the beautiful tan leather at the heel counter, the vamp and the front of the toebox. The tan leather is contrasted perfectly with a brown tweed swoosh that matches the little line representation of Quasimoto himself on the heel. The upper and toebox are adorned with a very nice tight light blue herringbone print, which is probably my favorite part of the shoe. The insole gets the same light blue herringbone treatment as the upper and toebox, and the Stones Throw label is right under your heel (should you choose to wear them). Finally, the tongue and heel support have a nice brown-grey waffle print that finishes up the shoe perfectly.

These kicks were released only to friends and family of the Stones Throw label and there were only 50 (fifty, L, cinquante) pairs ever. This fact alone catapults these kicks into the upper echelons of the sneaker collecting world. Combine that with the serious following Madlib has created for himself and these shoes become some of the most revered sneakers in history. These shoes do not tread lightly. They command respect from fans of sneakers and Madlib alike but can only be afforded by few serious collectors.
The shoes themselves have never been so much as tried on, this is as mint as they come. They are a US size 10.5, which is a very common one so the number of interested folks should be large.

The last pair of these Quasimoto Dunks sold for an alleged $3000 on eBay, and for right now, we’re not going to take that route. This will be a private sale, from us to you, no third party. So, if you are in fact interested, and I’m sure many of you are, please send us an email with an offer and it will be considered. This is the real deal, any lowballs will have their address spammed with the low offer repeatedly until the address is no longer valid. Just kidding, I have no skills.
As I’m digging around the internet for these sneakers, I can’t find a single pair, but the number of people who want them is staggering. This is your chance to own one of the most sought after low-production sneakers in history. Take this seriously because I don’t know if you will ever see these kicks for sale on the internet again.
So, please, if you are interested in owning these shoes, send us an email with your offer. If you get a response, you will be the current high bidder.
