I have noticed a lot more Artful Dodger-esque designs on Rocawear clothing ever since Jay bought the company from Scott Langton back in November of last year. These jeans are the perfect example of how Rocawears designers have been influenced, but not completely taken over by Artful Dodger’s design theories. These jeans have a lot of big colourful stitching about the back but unlike the British label, the images used in said stitching are very afrocentric american. While Dodger designs tend to be scary wolves or skeleton robbers wearing tophats, the Rocawear jean is using half-naked black women with afro’s. I’ll let you be the judge, but I think Artful Dodger’s influence is a welcome feather in Rocawear’s cap. Check out the pants here.

Time for some new, simple, and beautiful denim from the boys over at Lifted Research. This pair is called “Another Batch From Scratch” hinting at the fact that when they make a new pair of jeans, they start from the ground and work up. Every single garment is a labour of love and these jeans are no different. I’ve spoken before about how great I think all the, some might say, boring jeans are; these are no different. You can see how LRG likes to keep it simple while still playing with the stitching on the back pockets. On the left side of the two pockets, four different coloured threads start making the same “L” pattern we’ve grown to love. As they travel accross the pocket though, they become further apart, then finally, start to come back together again. Also, the finishing threads that secure the back pockets to the rest of the pants are playfully sewn down the side of the pocket creating another taste of the freshness in a plain pair of pants. Dr. Jay’s just dropped this pair of pants so they’re going to have it in your size. Pick em up.

Normally, I don’t like to undercut the good people over at Dr. Jay’s, but consumers have the right to pay the lowest price and this is it. If you jog on over to this guy’s auction, you’ll see he’s selling both the jeans and the track jacket for an incredible price. Even at discounted prices, the jeans and the track jacket separately just can’t touch this price.
Dr Jay’s does however have the advantage when it comes to supply. They have these Jasper articles in many different colours and sizes so if it’s your cup of tea, and the auctioned pair won’t fit, go check em out.

Normally, my denim taste runs along the lines of LRG, Evisu and Levi’s (they invented the stuff) but I don’t shy away from new things. Pelle Pelle has won me over with a single pair of jeans. These are the “Famous P” jeans and, as you can see, the back pockets are adorned with ever shrinking stitched “P”s. These are very cool, well built jeans that I would have no problem purchasing. You can pick up a pair from Dr. Jays.

Hey, COOGI’s back doing what they do best! Crazy ass jeans with tonnes of stitching and blinding colours. All in all, if the rainbow weren’t below the waist band, these pants would look, well, plain. The left pocket has one, newer, COOGI logo on it and the right has another. Both are red stitching with white highlites and they’re both on black denim. I will admit that the rainbow strip adds a little to the personality of the garment. Overall, these are my favourite jeans from COOGI so far this year. I suggest you go buy these before you’re ridiculed for rockin’ last years COOGI’s.

Here’s another pair of jeans from LRG that are of the classic and simple variety. The denim is blue, the stitching is yellow and the attention to detail is great. The rivets used on this pair of pants are the LRG tree logo which is a nice little bonus instead of the traditional round rivets. The theme is nautical, as is apparant by the blue and white rope on the back pockets and the red and white striping inside the fly flap. These are my newest additions to my denim collection. You can pick up a pair in your size here.
