Wow….possibly the 3 most known and respected Hip Hop producers ever to grace the MPC all in the same interview. I’ll let the video do the talking!

Well Dex, this weeks episode left the kind of taste in my mouth so fresh I got called in to do a Mentos commercial! On a more serious note I actually forgot to brush my teeth today..*** This joint is around 76 minutes long, so there’s plenty to get into here. Funk, soul, jazz loops, Quasimoto (who is, for the uninitiated, the alter ego of Madlib), and just good music. Check it. More info available at rappcatts.com. ***

So I had tickets to see Wu Tang live in Seattle at Bumbershoot and a Lincoln Navigator to cruise down in. This was a perfect opportunity to peep the new Mixtape Show episode on the drive down from Vancouver. Once the smoke was lifted, the bass poured down my spine as we rolled smoothly to our destination.
For the most party I got to see a glimpse of Lyrics Born rock a set right next to the over crowded beer garden…he was the only thing keeping me that caged off zoo. I knew once he was done I’d have to make a mad dash to the arena to get some ill seats for Wu Tang! And for those who think Hip Hop is dying, think again! Not only did they completely rock the house to its knees, they promised the crowd another LP! Check out some of the action from the show!

If you haven’t peeped Dex Digital from “The Mixtape Show” I suggest you head on over to his site asap! It’s been little over a year since this Hip Hop podcast got started and the only other show that comes close is Indiefeeds Hip Hop Show. It’s almost not fair to compare them even because one is a mixtape, and the other is episode after episode of ill underground tracks.
The latest episode of Indiefeeds podcast features that man from the west coast, PlanetAsia. The track title is “Havin Thangs” from the lp Jewelry Box Sessions. I have both these shows rigged up in iTunes so I never miss a beat! I’ve found myself discovering 100% of my new music through podcasts which has been imho the best way to get it these days. There’s really no need for record companies anymore within this digital age so it’s good to let up and coming artists to get their chance. If anyone out there has a podcast or any music to promote feel free to send it our way - illstyling@gmail.com.

All I have to say about this man is that he has talent! I’ve been bumping his latest album on my iPod for the great half of the week, and it’s gotten me through some boring times. I’ve found myself slowly drifting away from Hip Hop due to the airwaves being polluted with crap! Brother Ali’s Champion is very refreshing and some how uplifting despite the struggles he puts forth in his lyrics. You can buy Brother Ali’s Champion online for only $11.01!
