When Nixon dropped the Capital I brushed it off as just another Nixon that would fill holes and would never make much of a splash in their extensive collection. That was, until I saw it in person. I stopped by the skate shop on my lunch today and it caught my eye. I knew I had seen it before, but I kept thinking “how come I didn’t make a mental note of how dope this watch looks?” When I got back to my computer, I checked eBay for the Capital and realized why. This watch doesn’t look nearly as good in pictures as it does in real life. The picture above is a pretty damn good one; it makes the watch look much better than Nixon did. If you’re feelin’ the oval shape and simple face, head over to eBay to pick one up for yourself. They are selling for much cheaper on eBay than they are in the stores. Find out for yourself.
This is Nixon’s newest wristwatch, “The Sentry”. It has been promoted to my daily. I can’t stop wearing it. It’s large, round, dark faced and has red trim. It features 3 movements, throwing the date and month in there to break up the otherwise clean face. The movements are made by a Japanese company, who continue to prove themselves to be among the best watchmakers. This is one of the few watches you will see me wearing that does not have a metal band. Pick up one of the sick colorways
I think I have fallen in love. I’ve become somewhat of a watch lover lately and this to me is wrist sex in motion. The good folks at Citizen Japan must have been smoking the good stuff, from morning til night. The Citizen Astrodea Northern Hemisphere Celestial Watch has only one down side, having to say its name every time someone asks about it. And that will happen a lot!
This watch colabo between LRG and G-Shock came out a minute ago but they’ve just started to hit eBay recently. It seems the only way companies can stay fresh these days is to colaborate with other companies. There’s a lot that’s getting lost in the sea of short runs and ________ X ______ ’s. This watch is no different. It will undoubtedly fall into obscurity after the initial hype dies down. For now though, it’s a dope watch that catches any eye.

I’m not the biggest fan of Marc Ecko’s clothing, any of his lines. Don’t get me wrong, I think he makes some nice clothes, but on the whole it’s not my style. He does, however, know how to design a damn fine looking timepiece. This is the Silver Arena watch and it features a rhinestone encrusted inner face and interchangeable rhinestone or plain silver bezels. Its movements include the normal hour, minute, and second hands, but there’s also a seconds meter, date, and military time in the face. I can’t speak for the quality of the movements. Odds are they’re built in Japan seeing as the price is such a bargain, but that doesn’t mean Japan doesn’t build excellent movements. I service my Swiss made watches every year and have yet to service any of my Japanese watches. In the end, this is a very good looking watch for a great price. Pick one up here.
A couple months ago, Nixon released the Zillamatic. It was a new addition to Nixon’s elite class of watches which range anywhere from $600 to $1300. The Zillamatic features 3 hand, 25 jewel Swiss movements, a sapphire crystal face and caseback window, and the stainless steel case is treated with an anti-scratch formula. The band is also made of stainless steel and it has a solid double locking clasp. Furthermore, the watch is water resistant to 100m so you can take it for a swim. They just started hitting eBay now so go see if you can get a good deal on them.
